TITLE:           Green Materials Selection:  LEED Credits and Case studies
SPEAKERS: Miriam Landman, Senior Associate, Simon &  Associates, Inc., 
Green Building Consultants

Simon & Associates is a nationally recognized consulting firm addressing 
sustainable and healthy building design and construction practices.  Their 
clients include design firms as well as public, private, and non-profit 
building owners and developers, representing a variety of building types 
including institutional, educational, commercial, industrial, and 
residential.  The firm has completed four LEED certified projects and has 
consulted on more than a dozen LEED registered projects.  As a Senior 
Associate with the firm, Miriam Landman is widely recognized for her 
expertise on green building design, with a particular emphasis on green 
material specification.  She has given numerous green building workshops 
and presentations throughout the Bay Area, and is also extensively involved 
with related organizations such as the U.S. Green Building Council, Green 
Resource Center, and GreenHomeGuide.com.

In this presentation, Miriam will give an overview of green materials 
selection criteria related to both resource efficiency and health.  She 
will discuss in detail the various LEED credits that are specifically 
related to materials, and will also describe a number of case studies of 
LEED projects and other green buildings in northern California.  Finally, 
Miriam will also bring a variety of product samples for show-and-tell.
